The Strand | An introduction.
The Strand, located between the Ferries and Gzira is a stunning area that overlooks the Sliema waterfront and promenade with a spectacular panoramic view of the bay, Manoel Island and the capital city of Valletta.

The Strand is within walking distance from the Sliema Bus Terminus and the ferry port to Valletta. Further up the promenade, one can use the ferry service which runs every 30 minutes during the summer daytime and takes you to and from Valletta. Here you can stop for a lovely lunch or enjoy a walk around the capital city visiting the historical sites, gardens and cathedrals, as well as enjoying the quaint cafes spread throughout Valletta’s narrow side streets. It also makes a great day out for shopping since hundreds of retail shops from top designers, street brands to market stalls can all be found here. The water taxi offers an easy and convenient service with a great view and an enjoyable ride when commuting between the two towns.
Over the years, the landscape in this area has changed tremendously. From town houses and typically large Maltese houses that use to stand here a few generations ago, this are now sees high-rise buildings and apartment blocks being built continuously due to it’s high demand and popularity.
