The Tigné Seafront in Sliema is incredibly well kept and invested in. The community here is highly appreciative of the facilities made available for the entire family to enjoy, as well as the open-air spaces. Young couples can certainly enjoy much of the same – sun, sea, bars and lidos that turn to clubbing venues by night. The parks in the area offer the public the opportunity to take their families out for a day of activities, and others can enjoy a run along the promenade that stretches past into Sliema.
In the height of summer, this area experiences the highest footfall as winter bound lidos reopen to reveal finger licking cuisines by the sea, offering private pool facilities and sunbeds aplenty to sponge in the sun and catch up on your vitamin D. In winter, people still frequent the area due to the warm climates, the bravest of which still take a leap into the inviting sea. Divers scouring the coastline can be seen all year round as well as fisherman. The view out to sea is one of the grandest. Yachts and boats in the hundreds start to return at the end of the day against an orange skyline, which makes for impressive viewing. If you happen to be sitting at a lido having an early dinner, you may find yourself saying very little at the table, as you are too busy looking out at sea and admiring all the activity. Strolling back home won’t be much different as day turns to night, the pace doesn’t slow down. The community is out, whether to have drinks, meet friends, have a barbeque by the sea, or go clubbing, everyone is enjoying the summer night till late in the morning. This makes it a slightly noisier environment and this may unfortunately ward off those looking for more peace and quiet. The music from the lidos tends to be loud into the late hours of the evening.
