Tower Road | An introduction.
The most prominent street in the area of Sliema which starts from the Ferries all the way through to St. Julians is one of the most prestigious streets one could live in! It is the primary route that runs all along the coast of these two major central towns, from the renowned ‘Love sign’ at Spinola bay in St. Julians to The Ferries in Sliema, each part offering a spectacular view of the promenade and the beautiful blue sea no matter which direction your terrace looks out from!
Tower road is named after a 17th century watch tower which can be found on the promenade overlooking Exiles beach. In recent years this has been transformed into a popular restaurant that one can dine in whilst enjoying the panoramic view.

This area is extremely popular for swimming, diving, snorkeling, shopping, dining, having a drink, strolling, jogging, aerobics classes, yoga classes on the beach or to simply sit back and gaze at the turquoise sea view, it caters for absolutely any character with so much to choose from. With play grounds practically every 200/300 meters along the promenade as well as private hospitals, schools and nurseries found here it is also great for families looking to move here with young children.
The long and winding coastal promenade overlooks rocky beaches, lidos and gardens, whilst an abundance of shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment establishments are all within walking distance, some are even located on the promenade itself. With the various entertainment establishments, gorgeous view and great accessibility to so many swimming areas there is little else to desire!
This area offers a wide choice of shopping opportunities for all. Besides the small shops along Sliema’s Promenade and up along Tower Road, one can find numerous high street shops and the largest shopping centres on the Maltese Islands. “The Point Shopping Mall” that is situated at Tigne Point and the “The Plaza Shopping Mall” which is located just off the Ferries have hundreds of shops from designer labels to high street brands.
Many offices are also located in this street due to its great location! Business centres, corporate offices, banks, shops and some fantastic hotels and guesthouses can all be found here. With views of the horizon, blue seas and the most beautiful sunrise no wonder this area attracts hundreds of locals, tourists and expatriates to buy or rent a property or office space each year.
Another great advantage of living in Tower Road is that it is extremely easy to get around. Being bang in the centre and close to everything one rarely needs a car, it is also a five to ten minute walk or a bus ride to absolutely anywhere within the Sliema and St.Julians area. Car parks are also available, although, many parking areas are reserved for residents which helps in finding a space close to home.
